2. Hosting and delivery by Cloudflare

This website is hosted on Cloudflare Pages and delivered through Cloudflare’s network. The provider is Cloudflare, Inc., 101 Townsend St., San Francisco, CA 94107, USA. Cloudflare is a US company.

What data: When you open a page, Cloudflare necessarily receives connection data: your IP address, date and time, the requested URL, the amount of data transferred, the referring page (if your browser sends it), and your browser type and operating system.

Purpose: to deliver the website, secure the connection and fend off attacks.

Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. Our legitimate interest is to provide the website reliably and securely.

Data processing agreement: Cloudflare processes this data on our behalf under its Customer Data Processing Addendum pursuant to Art. 28 GDPR.

Transfers to the USA: Processing may take place on servers in the USA and other countries outside the EU. Cloudflare is certified under the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework, so the European Commission’s adequacy decision of 10 July 2023 applies (Art. 45 GDPR). The data processing agreement additionally provides for the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses (Art. 46(2)(c) GDPR).

Retention: We do not analyse or store access logs ourselves. Cloudflare determines how long it retains connection data; according to Cloudflare, this depends on the purpose of processing and legal obligations.

For details, see Cloudflare’s privacy policy: https://www.cloudflare.com/privacypolicy/

3. No cookies, no analytics, no third-party content

This website does not use cookies and does not store anything else in your browser. It uses no analytics or tracking tools and no advertising networks. It loads no fonts, scripts or other content from third-party servers; text is displayed in the fonts already installed on your device. Videos and other external content are linked, not embedded. Light or dark mode follows your device settings.

Search: The search function runs in your browser, which fetches parts of the search index from this website as needed. This only involves the connection data described in section 2.

4. Contact by email

If you email us, we process your email address, your name (if provided) and the content of your message in order to respond. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR, or Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR for enquiries relating to a contract. Emails are stored with our email provider, Proton AG, Route de la Galaise 32, 1228 Plan-les-Ouates, Switzerland, which processes them on our behalf (Art. 28 GDPR). The European Commission has recognised Switzerland as providing an adequate level of data protection (adequacy decision 2000/518/EC, Art. 45 GDPR).
